The Baum in Rochdale has been named Greater Manchester CAMRA Pub of the Year for 2013, retaining its 2012 title and going forward to defend its CAMRA National Pub of the Year 2012 crown.

CAMRA’s press release announcing all 16 regional winners said of The Baum:

The Baum, Rochdale“Fabulous pub with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere set within a conservation area and joined to the original Pioneer building that houses the first ever Co-op. A single bar with eight handpumps, one dedicated to cider, caters for two levels and a conservatory. Local beers are always available alongside others from far and wide. Excellent fresh food is sourced locally. Outside, there is a large beer garden and two boules pistes. Greater Manchester and National CAMRA Pub of the Year 2012. Not to be missed.”

Beverley Gobbett, posting to the Greater Manchester CAMRA Facebook Group added: “The close runner up is Costello’s in Altrincham. A new pub to the top table in third place is the Victoria and Albert in Horwich, Bolton. Many congratulations to all publicans and their teams. Look out for the dates of their presentations.”

Congratulations to The Baum on another hugely successful year, and here’s hoping they take the Nationals by storm again!
